7 DAYS RONGAI ROUTE KILIMANJARO CLIMB TOUR

The great moment stars when you arrive at Kilimanjaro international airport where the staff of Access Budget Safaris will pick you then drive to ARUSHA at the lodge/guest house. You will have a great view of the mountain and the Guide will provide you with the basic information for your tour to the great Kilimanjaro Mountain

Day1: FROM RONGAI GATE TO SIMBA CAMP.

ACCESS BUDGET SAFARIS’ driver will pick you from the guest house/lodge and drive you to MARANGU PARK GATE for registration and other formalities followed by a transfer to RONGAI TRAILHEAD IN THREE HOURS where you will meet your Guide and porters for the preparation to start your hike from Nale Moru Village. You will pass through a small winding path and then climb through a pine forest which is a gentle track. You will have the first night at Simba Camp.

DAY 2: SIMBA CAMP TO SECOND CAVE

Following the breakfast, continue with the climbing slowly up to the second Cave for lunch, afternoon relax, have your dinner and overnight stay here.

DAY 3: SECOND CAVE TO KIKELEWA CAVE

Following the early morning breakfast, proceed with the hike upwards to Kibo then you will be reaching KIkelwa Cave and here you will star felling that you are really on a big mountain! You may go to the third cave camp for an overnight stay as you prepare for the next climb.

DAY 4: KIKELWA CAVE TO MAWENZI TARN CAMP

This will be a short but steep hike with the great grassy slope giving the best view of the big area this is! This ends shortly before you reach your next camp at Mawenzi Tarn which is wonderfully located and you will enjoy the area, experience a lot, dinner and overnight stay preparing for the next hike.

DAY 5: MAWENZI TARN CAMP TO KIBO HUT

Following the breakfast you will proceed with the hike on the Eastern side of Kibo crossing the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo for 5 to 6 hours and you reach Kibo Hut. Rest for the next hours and prepare for the midnight climb. Have an overnight stay at Kibo Camp

DAY 6: HERE START ATTEMPTING THE PEAK FROM KIBO HUT TO UHURU PEAK THE TO HOROMBO HUT

Following the early morning breakfast, start the most challenging hike through the rocky path to the Hans Meyer Cave and have some rest then proceed with the winding path up to GILLMAN’S point located in the crater rim thus requiring great physical effort. From here you will be facing the snow along the way up to UHURU PEAK! While at the peak, you will take photographs and enjoy the peak then slope down to Kibo Hut, have some rest then proceed to Horombo Hut where you will have your overnight stay. The descent will be fast compared to the ascent and you will have your last dinner and overnight stay here.

DAY 7: HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE

Following the early morning breakfast, continue with the journey passing the Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate where you will sign your name and the details in the register and receive your certificate as a successful climber. THOSE WHO REACHED GILLMAN’S POINT ARE GIVEN GREEN CERTIFICATES AND THOSE WHO REACHED UHURU PEAK ARE GIVEN GOLD CERTIFICATES. The driver will take you back to Arusha or Moshi where your safari will be ending with a lot of experience.
