Day One: Head to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by a guide from Access budget safaris then transfer to western Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way, you will have a stopover at the Equator for photos and experiments then proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch proceeds with your journey to Queen Elizabeth and the park is located on the rift valley flow between Lake Edward and Lake George, you will be able to see a number of animals and plants. As you enter the park, you will be able to see the Rwenzori ranges that are in the plains and are 60meters long, 40m wide and looking at a distance they as if they touch the sky. The park is directly on the equator so its vegetation is dry savanna throughout the year with rainy seasons during March to May and September to November. You will be welcomed by charming baboons as you make your way through the park driving to the Mwea peninsular where you will get a chance to spot some of the animals like elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, buffalos etc. Dinner and overnight at the hotel of your choice.
Day Two: GAME DRIVE Wake up very early in the morning ready best part of the day. After breakfast, drive to the northern Kazinga channel and here you will get an opportunity to see the early risers as they go back to their hideouts and as you proceed in the park's vegetation that is bushy grassland, acacia woodland, forest grassland, and swampy vegetation, you will be able to see a number of bird species. On arrival on the Kasenyi plain that is East of Kasese road, this part has the kobs mating ground and here there are high chances of viewing a lion awaiting its prey. Return to the park for late breakfast then take a rest as you wait for lunch then drive to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise on the banks of the lake. Kazinga channel is located between Lake George and Lake Edward and its 40km long. the shore is an attraction to many birds, you will be able to see a variety of birds like white-winged warbler, lesser and greater flamingos, African skimmer, pink-backed pelican, the rare shore bill stork, martial eagles etc and a number of elephant families, herds of Buffalos, antelopes as they drink water on the lake then crocodiles and hippos. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day Three: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK Wake up early in the morning and drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector an area famous for harboring tree climbing lions then proceed to Bwindi arriving in the afternoon. The Bwindi impenetrable national park is located in the montane forest that is a home to some of the remaining Mountain gorillas in the world. On reaching the park, you will be able to view interesting spectacular birds that include African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon, and the gorgeous forest or tree species. You will also be able to see the beautiful primates like the Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons then dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice.
Day Four: GORILLA TRACKING Wake up early in the morning and after breakfast; get ready to meet the gorillas. you are supposed to wear trousers and gumboots because the forest has biting insects and the ground is quite boggy and packed lunch then head to the ranger station for the briefing before you enter into the forest with the guides. Begin your search for the gorillas and as you walk, you will notice that there are some primate climbing on tree branches like the baboons, black and white Colobus monkeys, red-tailed and blue monkeys etc and a number of birds. as you approach the gorillas, you will hear murmuring sound from the bush and when you locate them, you will be filled with joy because it’s a memorable experience. You are only allowed one hour with the gorillas and during this time you will be able to see how the young ones play on tree branches and the way the adults look for their babies, take photos and relax with them then return to your lodge and in the late evening you may participate in the cultural walk. Dinner and overnight at the hotel of your choice.
Day Five: Head to Rwanda Wake up very early in the morning and after breakfast, you will cross the Uganda-Rwanda border via Kyanika and transfer to the Parc Volcanoes National park in Rwanda. On arrival in Rwanda, you will tour Ruhengeri town then transfer to the hotel of your choice to freshen up then dinner and overnight.
Day six: Transfer to Kigali Wake up early in the morning and after breakfast, transfer to Kigali for a brief city tour and here you will be able to visit the genocide memorial sites then head to Kanombe International Airport for your flight back home.
