Here we outline what to expect on your Africa group tour or school trip to Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. As all of our tours are tailor made some aspects may change. Please contact us to discuss the requirements for your group tour and a member of our team will help you understand what to expect on your group tour. Accommodation We only use trusted accommodation which we know to be clean, in a safe location and which is regularly inspected by local authorities. Accommodation is usually on a twin-share basis unless otherwise requested. When camping, your group will be provided with all camping equipment including tents, quality sleeping bags, sleeping mats, eating utensils, kit bags, as well as three hearty meals per day prepared by Access Budget Safaris trained cooks in a hygienic and controlled environment. Meals In the cities, breakfasts are usually served in hotels. Lunches may be picnic style or, along with dinners, in carefully selected restaurants. While on long journeys, Access Budget Safaris cooks have been trained to provide meals appropriate for the palates of the school group with a mix of local and western style dishes. Guides We believe that our local Access Budget Safaris guides provide the best experience. Their local knowledge is unparalleled in terms of interpreting the natural and cultural environment, outlining the history of a region, engaging local dialogue and also re-arranging services if required. Many of our local Access Budget Safaris guides have worked for our company for a long time. Some are first aid trained, but all are experienced, and passionate about their country. We have the utmost confidence in their ability to provide an outstanding experience for your group or school that easily surpasses any service a western guide could offer. Internal transport Depending on the itinerary chosen, the group may use a variety of transport, but we mainly use vans and buses to travel about. We only use trusted transport providers and always use private buses. Using private buses not only ensures we can control the safety of the service, but it also means the group is not taking seats away from locals who sometimes are more in need of the local services. Well thought-out itineraries If Africa group tour and school trip itinerary design was an art form, our work would be hanging in galleries around the world! At the very least, it is most certainly a science of meticulous planning and precise logistics, and we have years of experience to ensure your Africa group tour itinerary is safe and achievable. When it comes to travelling at altitude, we always factor in ample days to allow for proper acclimatization, as well as to allow for inclement weather.

We provide the following useful information for parents and children to read before the start of their school trips and educational visits to Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. Ugandan, and East African traffic in general, is different from the one you are used to in the UK, USA or Europe, so be very careful to look on either side. Do not walk into the road after checking right only. Please note that vehicles in Rwanda travel on the right. Listen carefully to instructions from Access Budget Safaris staff and ask for clarification if necessary. Make sure you keep appointments to meet up with the group at the correct time and place. No smoking or drinking alcohol while on Africa tours without the express permission of a teacher. Follow all instructions from teachers and those in authority. Failure to do so may endanger yourself and others. Never act recklessly or you may cause an accident. Report any injuries or illnesses immediately to your teachers or Access Budget Safaris staff who will provide first aid or arrange medical attention. Do not stray or wander away from your group. Do not go swimming without permission. At refreshment stops, stay close to the group leaders and do not wander around the car park or near the road. Respect the hotel and other accommodation facility rules and be polite to each other and other visitors. Keep noise down especially after 11 pm. Do not run along corridors and around blind corners. Do not socialize in bedrooms; a lounge is available. Do not use bad language. This gives a bad impression of your school and of British students. Most people in Uganda or Kenya understand English. Luggage should be restricted to one medium sized suitcase and one small bag for hand luggage. Do not over pack. Apart from a camera, do not bring valuables and jewelers.
