Day One:  Kampala - Mbarara - Kasese
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport by the morning flight, you will be welcomed by our travel guide and the driver then transferred to Kasese via Mbarara. You will make a stopover in Mbarara for lunch at the hotel of your choice. From here you enjoy landscape changes from flat land to hilly land and fertile areas with gardens of tea and banana plantations. Then dinner and overnight at a hotel of yo, ur choice.

Day Two: Nyakalengija -Nyabitaba hut.
Early in the morning you will be briefed by the guides and receive hiking equipment at the park headquarters at Nyakalengija and here the mountain is at 1.646m. Mountain hiking starts with passing through the Banana plantations and homes of Bakonjo people. You will follow the Mubuku River until you cross the Mahoma River. This trail passes through open fern slopes and Podocarpus Forest, up to Nyabitaba hut which is 2.652m above sea level, this is the arrival point of the day and it takes 6-5 hours. While facing northwards, you will be able to see the portal peaks and the distance is 4.627m. During the day you are likely to see Monkeys, Rwenzori turacos, and other wildlife and it’s at this point that hiking of the mount Rwenzori begins.

Day Three: Nyabitaba hut- John Matte Hut
Descend on the ridge to Mubuku River then climb through the bamboo forest towards John Matte Hut that is approximately 3414m.  The afternoon is a bit tiring because you climb ascending to the North side of the Mubuku River through the giant heather forest and this hike takes approximately 5-4 hours.

Day Four:  John Matte Hut- Bujuku Hut
During this trek from John Matte to Bujuku Hut, you will encounter the most notorious bogs for which the Uganda approach to the peaks is famous, and then around Bigo bog and Lake Bujuku, you will look out for the "everlasting flower" known to remain on plants for 40years.

Day Five: Bujuku Hut - Elena Hut
From Bujuku Hut you will climb through the moss dumped groundsel vegetation to Scott Elliot Pass that is approximately 4.372m between Mt. Baker and Stanley. On reaching here you will divert to Elena Hut which is 4.540 m then spend there a night before proceeding to climb Mt. Stanley.

Day Six:  Mt. Stanley
Begin climbing the Elena glacier to the Stanley Plateau and here crampons may be required.C ross the Elena Hut, Punta Margherita which is 5109m then Kitandara Hut. This early morning traverse of a North West direction will follow the Margherita glacier to the col and to the Summit and it takes approximately 3 hours. Afterward, descend to Elena Hut then to upper Kitandara Lake and proceed through the thick mud to lower Kitandara Lake 4.023m where Kitandara Hut is located. It will take you approximately 3 hours to complete the hike.   Then from Kitandara Hut, you can proceed with climbing to Mount Baker or Mount Luigi di Savoia and the peak Vittorio Sella. Enjoy the viewing the site and features of Mt. Luigi di Savoia.

Day Seven: Kitandara Hut - Guy Yeoman Hut
From Lake Kitandara you climb you climb 4.282 m., to fresh field pass along high alpine mossy glades before descending the circuit among rocky and boggy areas. This panorama is dominated by the glaciers of Mount Stanley and Baker then Mount of savoy. This muddy trail leads you to Akendali, Bujongolo Kabamba rock shelters, where the kabamba valley starts then down to Guy Yeoman Hut that is approximately  3.261 m, this hut is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountains, vegetations, and rivers and the hike takes approximately 6 hours.

Day Eight: Guy Yeoman Hut - Nyabitaba hut
Begin climbing the steep slopes alongside the Mobuku River, you will pass via Kichuchu, another rock shelter and then join the original route near the confluence of Bujuku River a distance that takes 3 1/2hours.

Day Nine: Nyabitaba- Nyakalengija
it will take you 2 hours to move from Nyabitaba Hut to the Nyakalengija and it's here that you will have a base camp and overnight. Descend steeply off the ridge and you will notice that you will be entering the warm rainforest and here you will look out for the tropical forest birds and monkeys. Then drive back to Kampala and you may have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch as you proceed to Entebbe for your International flight back home.

Climbers should carry their own climbing gear or prepare to hire at the base camp.
Climbers should be prepared to walk up to 8 hours every day on steep cliffs and muddy paths.
Hired potters carry up to 8kg of personal climbing gear.
The approximate distance is 470kms and the estimated time is 6-7 hours.
